The Boy Scouts and their leaders are finally admitting their uniforms are outdated and outdated and that they don’t really have a place for the LGBTQ+ community in their future.
The decision to change the uniforms, which were the same for years, came after a number of high profile gay rights organizations said the organization was making them outdated, citing issues with its “gay iconography.”
But the Scouts of American, the nation’s largest Christian religious organization, is still trying to change its image as a gay-friendly organization.
A few months ago, the organization held a meeting with its leadership to discuss the issue.
It was there that a group of Boy Scouts leaders came forward with a new proposal that they hope will be approved by the Boy Scout Board of Governors next week.
The proposal is expected to include an overhaul to the organization’s logo and the fact that the organization will no longer be allowed to use the word “Boy.”
“The name ‘Boy Scouts of the USA’ is being changed to ‘Boy Scouting of America,’ which is being presented as a way to honor and honor the values of the Scout Movement, which include diversity, inclusion, and respect,” a statement from the Scouts said.
“This is the first step in a process that will culminate in a new name that will be presented in 2019.”
The announcement was welcomed by LGBTQ+ groups.
“As a proud member of the Boy Scouting of the United States, I’m thrilled that the Boy Scans of the U.S.A. is finally recognizing that its logo and name are outdated,” the Rev. Dr. Jonathan Adkins, the founder of the National Center for Lesbian Rights, said in a statement.
“For nearly a century, our Scout Promise has been about standing up for and supporting the LGBT community, and now we can finally celebrate that as part of our history,” Adkins said.
But this is a step forward in recognizing that Boy Scouts is inclusive of LGBTQ+ people. “
The Boy Scouts has long been the world’s largest gay-accepting religious organization.
But this is a step forward in recognizing that Boy Scouts is inclusive of LGBTQ+ people.
I hope that this step forward will lead to more and better inclusion and respect for LGBTQ+ youth and adults in the Boyscouts.”
The Scouts are expected to make their final decision on the changes to the uniforms in the next few weeks.
