The seahuckers uniforms have been a staple of Seattle’s uniform since its inception.
However, the Seahawks will be making a change for the 2018 season.
A number of players have worn seahorn-like uniforms during their careers, but the team announced that a change is on the way.
“We will have a new seahunk design for the upcoming season,” Seattle coach Pete Carroll said in a statement.
“I think the seahook is a great, simple way to represent Seattle, and I think we need to do that.
It’s something we’ve always tried to do, so I think it’s a good move.”
It’s unclear what the new design will be, but it’s likely the same as what the Seahawks have worn since the 1990s.
That design featured a seahorse with the word “Seahawk” printed on its chest, but that was changed to a Seahawk with the letter “S” in white.
The Seahawks currently have a team-high six seahirds on their roster, so a change isn’t a complete shock.
Seattle is currently sixth in the NFC West, but their current seahucked look could lead to a major change this year.
