Cleveland Cavaliers’ head coach Tyronn Lue is taking a proactive approach with the team’s uniforms.
Lue is looking to get the Cavaliers ready for the NBA Finals.
The Cavs will wear their 2017-19 uniforms on the court for the first time this season when they take on the Golden State Warriors in Game 3 on Wednesday night.
Lue says that the uniforms he will be wearing this season have already been made available.
Lue has already been on hand for Cavs’ media day and has made it a point to wear the new uniforms to the media before every game.
“I’ve been working really hard to make sure I’m wearing the new Cavs uniforms for this season,” Lue said, via the Akron Beacon Journal.
“I’ve got them on my iPhone, so I’ve been really getting a lot of feedback.
I’ve also been working with [general manager] Dan Gilbert and [director of player personnel] Jim Johnson.
I’ve spent a lot time with them and I’m very excited to have them back.”
Lue also announced that his new uniform will feature the Cavaliers’ logo.
Lued is looking for a team with a “tremendous fan base,” he said.
The logo has been featured on all of the Cavs’ jerseys during the 2017-2018 season, with the exception of their regular season uniforms.
Lues said that he has already made some adjustments to the uniforms to help the Cavs reach the playoffs.
He says that they will be running fewer different colors and the colors will be more subtle, making the uniform more comfortable.
“It’s going to be more of a uniform with a slight difference in the overall design,” Lues said.
“It’s still going to have that uniform look.”
Lues also says that he expects the new Cavaliers uniforms to be a big improvement for the team.
“They’re going to look like the team we know and love,” he told the Beacon Journal, per the Akron Journal.
“We’re really excited about the uniforms, and I think everyone is excited about it, so hopefully everybody will come back to watch us this year.”
