With the introduction of a new government-imposed national vaccination programme, children in the United Kingdom can now get a dose of the vaccine.
But how does the new program work?
The UK government has introduced a new vaccination policy for children, which allows parents to take a “dumb phone” or smartphone and download a vaccination kit on the internet.
The kit is then taken to a local pharmacy and vaccinated against the four major strains of the H1N1 virus.
Parents are encouraged to get their children vaccinated at their home, rather than on the NHS.
“This is a great initiative by the government, and it has brought together the health authorities of the country, so they can work together to make sure that every child gets the vaccination as soon as possible,” said Dr David Tully, Chief Executive of the British Vaccination Society.
Dr Tully said that while the new vaccine was a huge success, it did not replace a range of other options available.
“It’s not a replacement, it’s not going to replace a vaccine,” he said.
“If you don’t have a vaccine, you’re just not going the next step, and if you don, it will not work.”
The new vaccination system will include the same vaccination guidelines as the previous national programme.
However, there are a number of different vaccines available.
There are three main types of H1Ns in use today.
These are the flu shot, nasal spray and a jab.
Dr Toby Goggin, from the University of Liverpool, said that the new programme should be able to provide parents with a wider range of options for getting their children vaccinations.
“The H1NS vaccine is an incredibly powerful vaccine, but it is also quite costly and it’s a complicated vaccine,” Dr Gogins said.
He said that parents should be aware of the cost of a vaccine and consider the benefits.
“There’s a lot of data that says that children who get the H3N2 vaccine will have a lower risk of catching influenza.
So that’s the type of vaccine that you should be getting,” he added.
Dr Gogin said that even with a vaccine being offered by the NHS, parents should still decide if they want to get the vaccine at home or at their local pharmacy.
“That’s the thing, the NHS can’t offer you a vaccine if you’re not at home with it,” he explained.
“So if you can’t get it at home, you should consider getting it at a pharmacy.
So the key here is to make the decision on your own.”
Dr Gugins said that a range the vaccination kit would include had to be considered.
“All these things, like which vaccine to get, the type and the timing of vaccination, it depends on which hospital or pharmacy you choose to get it from,” he suggested.
Dr Haddad explained that while a vaccine was available for all types of children, it is essential to have the vaccine for the specific strains that are most likely to cause an adverse reaction.
“A vaccine is a very important piece of kit, and that’s why we put it on a dumb phone.
It’s not something that can be taken in a pocket,” he told the BBC.”
But when you put it in a bag, or you’re holding it in your hand, it makes it much more portable, easier to take.”
Dr Haddon added that the vaccination programme should not be seen as an alternative to a vaccination.
“You shouldn’t think about it as a replacement for a vaccine.
The whole point of this vaccination is to get vaccinated, so it’s all about getting vaccinated, whether you want to or not,” he continued.”
What I would say is that we have to do all this stuff to make it as safe as possible.”
We’ve got a very rigorous testing programme, and I think it’s important that we do that, but the aim is to be as safe and as effective as possible.
“Dr Tullen said that as the new national vaccination program goes into place, parents will be able make their own choices about how to vaccinate their children.”
I think it will be quite useful for parents to have more options,” he concluded.”
They can choose to vaccine in their home or they can choose not to vaccinating, or they could choose to not vaccinate.
“When you have that choice, that’s a big benefit.”
Parents should make their choice about what they want their children to get in terms of vaccinations, and we want to make as many choices as possible to make their children as healthy as possible, and to make them as healthy in the long term as possible for their own health.
