The Navy has unveiled a new uniform to replace the old navy flight attendant uniform, which it previously said would go away in 2024.
New navy flight attendants will be wearing the navy-colored flight attendant uniforms for the first time in 2019, Navy spokesperson Lt.
Stephanie Ebert said in a statement on Monday.
The new uniforms will be worn by all members of the service, and will include a navy tie and cap, she added.
A Navy flight attendant from 2019 will be able to wear a black dress with navy tie in lieu of a black tie, according to the statement.
The navy-and-blue uniform has been worn by flight attendants since 1964.
Flight attendants have also worn navy-gray uniforms for some years, including in 2017 when the Navy released the first new flight attendant costume in two decades.
But the new navy uniforms will have a new look and are designed for all flight attendants, the statement said.
