Uniforms at the Miami Dolphins’ games could be getting more colourful in the coming years.
With a new deal to buy the rights to wear the team’s iconic purple and white jerseys, the Dolphins will now be able to outfit their players with a variety of colours.
The team has announced that it is purchasing the rights of the current design, and that it will be working with designers to come up with a new uniform for the 2020 season.
The team has long been known for its colourful uniforms, which have often featured a wide variety of styles including blue, gold, green and pink, but the new deal gives the Dolphins the chance to take their inspiration and put it to the test.
“The Miami Dolphins are committed to creating an environment that inspires and motivates our fans, our players, our coaches, our executives, our staff and our community, which is why we are thrilled to be purchasing the exclusive rights to the team jersey,” Miami Dolphins vice president of football operations and special teams coach John Miller said in a statement.
This is a big deal.
I can’t wait to see what our fans and our players wear.
This deal is a game changer for all of us.

“This is not just about uniformity.
This is about making sure we have a uniform that will stand the test of time,” Miller said.
Miami Dolphins fans, including many female fans, will be delighted with the new uniforms.
Dolphins fans are always happy to see their team wearing purple, gold and white, but it’s also been a tradition to wear different colours in the past.
In 2015, Dolphins fans wore purple and gold on the sidelines, and the team wore purple, black and white in 2018.
Earlier this month, Dolphins players wore a purple and green colour scheme to a game against the Dallas Cowboys, which inspired the design.
