Sharks coach Peter DeBoer announced Tuesday that the club will unveil a new jersey for its home opener against the New York Rangers.
The team’s official Twitter account posted a video of DeBoers jersey unveiling at the Sharks training facility in Los Angeles.
The jersey, which features a “J” on the chest, features the Sharks blue, white, and black colors, along with the club’s logo.
The “J-1” on DeBoeres jersey has also been replaced with a black and white “R” that is also seen on the jersey.
DeBoers first jersey was worn on Nov. 6, 2002, against the Anaheim Ducks.
The jersey was retired after the season and replaced by the blue, black, white and red “R-1.”
The team has won the Stanley Cup in four of the past five seasons.
The club has a record of 17-11-5 in its last 20 games.
