SANTA CLARA, California (Reuters) – The Rams are set to improve their look for the upcoming season and will have a new logo to go with it, the team announced on Monday.
The Rams have long had a logo in the shape of a rooster, but the new logo, called “Rams,” will have an image of a man with the head of a horse on it, according to a news release from the team.
The team is also using a logo similar to that of the Oakland Raiders that has a white background and a roosting bird on top.
“Rams” is a reference to the iconic logo of the Raiders, which was introduced in 1970 and was used by the team from 1978 to 1989.
Rams owner Stan Kroenke said the team will begin to roll out a new look this season with a new uniform.
“It’s not just a new identity for us, it’s a new set of uniforms,” Kroenkes said.
“It’s a completely new look for our team.
It’s going to have a different feel to it.”
The team unveiled the logo last month in a “We Are The Rams” video promoting a new partnership with a local youth league.
The team is currently working on a new version of the uniform, which will feature the same head and rooster.
The new look is expected to debut during training camp.
The first game of the season will be played at the Oakland Coliseum in Santa Clara, California.
